PET FENCES ABOVE GROUND INSTALLATION GUIDE

Think that pet fences are only available with a wire to bury or wireless? Think again. Worried that an above ground installation will hinder performance? This method of installation will not decrease the effectiveness of the system used. The only problem with an above ground installation is a potential safety issue if the proper precautions are not taken. To ensure a safe install of your invisible fence, you must use Securing Staples. Be sure to follow the directions below in place of burying the wire and read the included instruction manual.

Step 1:

  • First, lay down the wire around the area you wish to contain your pet. Be sure to run the wire back to the transmitter and plug it in.

Step 2:

  • Hammer the staples around the wire along the ground about ever five to six feet.

Step 3:

  • Make sure there are not any raised points before going to the next step. If there are any raised areas in the wire, hammer it down with another staple.

Step 4:

  • Place a staple where the twisted wire and the beginning of the boundary meet. If there is a splice in this area, dig a hole about 2 inches deep and bury the splice. Then place a staple in front and behind the splice to relieve any pressure.

Step 5:

  • Next, walk to the first corner of this boundary area and staple the wire it to the ground. Repeat this step for all corners of the boundary. If your yard is not square, just select multiple points to act as anchor points for the wire.

Step 6:

  • Now just place staples when needed to ensure that any areas that could rise up stay down until the wire is completely flushed to the ground, more maximum safety.
